Tour description

Caravaggio is one of the most prominent artists in the history of art. He gained fame not only thanks to his works, but also due to his explosive temperament. In fact, most of the information we have about his life comes from the police chronicles.

Caravaggio’s paintings are characterized by dark and mysterious atmosphere where the figures emerge thanks to the spotlight that the artist uses to unveil the story before us. The saints are portrayed as simple, common people no different from those you could have encountered on the streets of seventeenth-century Rome.

During this tour, we’ll visit the places where Caravaggio lived, where he created and grew his talent. We’ll see some of his most famous works and visit richly ornate churches and extraordinary private collections, as one of the Doria Pamphilj.
